Habitat: Bald Eagles are found throughout Michigan, often near Water. You might need to spend a little time researching where to find them. I’d recommend having a look at Ebird’s species map to find out where they are at. Once you find an area that they hang out in, you’ll probably have good luck on repeats visits.
Food Sources: Eagles will eat Fish, reptiles, amphibians, rodents, and birds, either alive or dead. It’s not uncommon to see them eating dead deer by the side of the road.
Photography Tips: Eagles don’t like humans being in close proximity to them. You’ll want to use a long telephoto lens to capture them from a distance. Setting up in camo or in a blind near where they hunt can also be beneficial. Keep your distance, and be respectful of these birds.
